UPC or OPC?

How to tell the difference whether a player is mining OPC or UPC. If you click on the ship and click scan on the pop up menu, you can easily see.

First image - the rewards box displays empty space on the right. This means the player is UPC, under protected cargo. You will not receive any rewards. It is against ROE, rules of engagement, to attack this ship.

Second image - the rewards box shows loot on the right. This means the player is OPC, over protected cargo. You will receive the rewards displayed. This is perfectly legal unless the alliance the player is in has FRIENDLY or ALLIED status with your alliance or player is in token space. Token space requires the use of a token and cannot be replaced.

REMEMBER

If you see a purple icon with the name of the player do not attack. You are breaking ROE and it is against the rules.

If player is in token space it is forbidden to attack too. If you had to pay a token to be there, it is token space.

NOTE: Breaking ROE is grounds for being removed from the alliance at the discretion of leadership.

The two images below are what FRIENDLY and ALLIED will look like on a player's ship. Just remember if you see PURPLE DO NOT ATTACK. You will be breaking ROE and our diplomacy agreement. For privacy we are not showing a player's name, but it will look the same only with their alliance name and their name.

The image below is how an enemy will appear. You will see a red crosshair target. This means the player is perfectly fine to attack whether OPC or UPC. They are KOS, kill on site, enemy. This is legal and not against ROE.

Very important

watch that you do not go OPC, over protected cargo while mining. Anyone except FRIENDLY or ALLIED can legally attack your ship. There is nothing leadership can do about it unless a friendly or allied alliance attacks you. Just watch your ships by checking them from time to time. If you are attacked UPC, under protected cargo by anyone please take a SS, screenshot of your battle report and upload it to our roe violations folder on our discord or upload it on our contact page on this website. We'll approach the alliance/player. Do not attempt to retaliate outside of ROE as we do not tolerate it, and it can be grounds for dismissal from the alliance.

Below is an example of an OPC survey aka mining ship. If you click on your ship a window pops up on the left. You'll see the green in the image below. The green means the ship has gone to it's protected cargo hold limit. You should recall your ship either a little before it turns green or exactly when it does. The white bar that goes beyond that box that is green is the amount the ship has gone OPC. Normally the ship you see in the image would be legal to hit, but it is in token space. Token space is off limits because the player used a token. You will cost them a token that you cannot just replace for them.
